Have you sold valves successfully and do you understand that field? Are you interested in instrumentation? Do you live in Greater Sudbury? If yes, we would like to hear from you. One of our clients is looking for an experienced Valves Inside Sales Representative for their Sudbury location.


JOB SUMMARY


Reporting to the Sudbury Branch and Outside Sales Manager, the Sudbury Valves Inside Sales Representative is a leader, and a team player recognized as an advanced individual contributor with good understanding of sales techniques and high willingness to continue to learn. As a Valves Inside Sales Representative you support our clients and contributes to their effort to effectively promote and expand the sales of their products from various and reputable manufacturers such as: Yokogawa, Flowserve, Leser, Eriez, Fujikin, Lechler, Xylem, ITT Engineered Valves, Check All Valve, TLV , and other brands. Your work is mostly provided to customers via telephone and the Internet (e.g., chat, email, video conferencing, etc.). You demonstrate leadership to achieve maximum sales revenue and ensure client satisfaction and retention, and when required you develop new accounts and/or generate new business from existing accounts through strategic customers engagement approaches, and effective approaches to close deals. In addition to knowing the ‘valves world’, you possess some knowledge in instrumentation products and control systems. 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Through telephone and internet (e.g., chat, email, video conferencing, etc.), respond to customer inquiries, and offer guidance on appropriate services and/or products.
  • Sell services and wear-resistant products (such as hi-grade steel plating), valves, strainers, pumps, instruments, filters, pipe fittings, and other related products.
  • Work in tandem with branch manager and other sales representatives to achieve sales goals and revenue targets.
  • Execute sales strategy, and identify new opportunities/leads.
  • Through various effective customer centric approaches, connect, build trust, and establish meaningful relationships with current and potential customers in Greater Sudbury.
  • Optimize customers satisfaction and retention by supporting customers through each stage as part of the organization customer experience program and create sales reports.
  • Identify opportunities to cross sell, upsell, and renew deals with customers.
  • Review customers’ inquiries documentations to determine appropriate products and/or services selection, including creation of order notations related to exceptions and deviations.
  • Respond to customers’ requests (clarification on quotation, and purchase order requirements.
  • Assist, as needed, with technical advice for products and/or services, day-to-day operations, sales initiatives such as products’ presentations, Trade Show participation, product training, clients’ visits…
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on organization CRM system of all important customer correspondence, quotations, commitments, contracts, etc.
  • Review customers’ inquiries documentations to determine appropriate products and/or services selection, including creation of order notations related to exceptions and deviations.
  • Assist, as needed, with technical advice for products and/or services, sales initiatives such as products’ presentations, Trade Show participation, clients’ visits…

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience as a technical inside sales representative or equivalent client-facing experience with technical products in the process/manufacturing field, and with demonstrated success.
  • Good technical level understanding of at least one of the following activities within the manufacturing field: process measurement, control systems, and information exchange.
  • Successful experience in customers’ accounts ongoing maintenance and service.

 

EDUCATION


Bachelor's Degree in Sales, and/or Business Development, and/or management, and/or Instrumentation, and/or Control, and/or equivalent education/training/experience.

  • Broad knowledge of the industrial process/manufacturing field.
  • Proven mastery of Sales techniques, so that they can naturally identify improvement opportunities, and know when it is time to close a deal.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform highly without supervision, and to be self-motivated.
  • Maintains an influential network of contacts with highly visible industry presence.
  • Strong technical expertise, and the proven ability to remain current with respect to industry trends, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes.
  • Strong negotiation skills, and the ability to close complex deals.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, and present effectively to others.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong commitment to be at service and bring value to others.
  • Ability, and willingness to learn new platforms/products/solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams.
  •  Ability to demonstrate confidence and establish trust with our customers.
  • Detail and results-oriented; able to balance multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Positive attitude combined with the desire to contribute to the success of the company.
